The Michael Tichbon Field Station is a unique research facility located in Bush Heritage Australia's Red Moort Reserve, (part of the Monjenup cluster), in south-west WA.. It provides a base for scientists and researchers undertaking operations in the Stirling and Fitzgerald regions. The facility is entirely off-grid, with solar power backed by onsite storage and back-up generator, rainwater collection and storage, composting toilets and greywater leachate field. The buildings were designed with prefabricated modular systems in mind, (specifically SIPs), allowing for off-site manufacture to address the relatively remote site location.
