A multi award-winning Perth Hills residence where SIPs installation was completed in two weeks, achieving 2.0 ACH airtightness.
When planning began for this residence in the Perth Hills suburb of Darlington, the brief called for a home that could meet premium performance targets across airtightness, thermal comfort and energy efficiency while sitting comfortably within its bush setting. The project used a hybrid SIPs construction system, requiring close coordination between the SIPs scope and the broader build program to ensure the panel installation integrated cleanly with the other structural and service elements.
SIPs Industries supplied and installed the SIPs component of the build, completing the panel installation in two weeks. The supply-and-install program was designed to deliver a highly airtight and insulated building envelope as the foundation for the double glazing, heat recovery ventilation and fully electric solar-powered systems specified for the project.
The completed home achieved an airtightness result of 2.0 ACH, significantly below the NCC baseline assumption of 10. The full build was complete in five months. The project was awarded HIA GreenSmart Project Home of the Year, recognising the performance outcome as a benchmark for residential construction.
