Founding Story.
Rob Vis had spent years in construction and land development when he noticed something the industry kept ignoring. Western Australia had a dominant building culture built around double brick, but the signs were clear: trade shortages were worsening, energy requirements were tightening, and the people buying homes wanted more from them than they were getting.
He found the answer in a product that had been proving itself in the United States since the 1930s. Structural Insulated Panels, pioneered by Frank Lloyd Wright and used successfully worldwide for over 50 years, had never properly landed in Australia. In 2009, SIPs Industries was established in Bibra Lake to change that.
Fifteen years and over 1,200 projects later, the shift Rob anticipated is now well underway.
Rob's Vision
I've had a fairly long career in construction and land development and saw a need for a better all round product other than what we traditionally use. SIPS was the answer!
Managing Director
Three Problems. One Solution.
Three forces are reshaping construction in Australia right now: a critical shortage of trades, a chronic undersupply of housing, and tightening energy standards that traditional build methods were never designed to meet. SIPs addresses all three with pre-manufactured panels that eliminate multiple trade stages. A structural shell goes up in a week rather than months, and the airtightness and insulation performance that SIPs delivers by default is what other construction methods spend considerable effort and cost trying to achieve.
Trade Shortage
Pre-manufactured SIPs panels eliminate multiple trade stages, meaning fewer people are needed on site to complete the same build.
Housing Supply
Faster construction means more homes completed in less time, helping builders deliver more projects without stretching their teams further.
Energy Standards
SIPs meets and exceeds the NCC 7-star NatHERS requirement by default, with no additional insulation treatments or workarounds required
Our Three Pillars.
Most conversations about energy efficiency focus on insulation levels alone. Real-world performance depends on combination of factors, each working in unison.
1. High Insulation.
2. Airtightness.
3. Thermal Bridging.

High Insulation Values
Save on scaffold hire, site management, and loan interest during construction.
9.0%
Airtightness Rating
A typical home leaks air 40 to 70 times per hour. SIPs panels test to just 0.5 air changes per hour.
9.0%
Low Thermal Bridging
Green loans offer rates up to 1.33% below standard variable, plus 12% higher borrowing.
Our SIPs Team.
SIPs Industries is a small, experienced team that takes every project seriously. From the first enquiry through to panel delivery and installation, you deal directly with people who know the product inside out and are invested in getting the result right.
Rob Vis
Managing Director

She works closely with the design and production teams to ensure each project is accurately costed and aligned with client requirements. With a strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering efficient outcomes, Mina plays an important role in supporting projects from the initial enquiry stage through to production.
Po-Yuan Chen
Factory Manager
Po-Yuan oversees manufacturing operations at SIPs Industries' Bibra Lake facility, managing production scheduling, quality control, and on-time delivery across every project. With a hands-on approach to the factory floor, he ensures every panel leaving the facility meets the engineering and compliance standards the business is built on.
CertifieD, Engineered, Recognised.
SIPs Industries is one of a small number of manufacturers in Australia to hold CodeMark certification across wall, floor, and roof panel systems. That certification is independently audited and renewed annually against a rigorous engineering standard, covering performance up to Region D cyclonic rating. For architects, government departments, and federally funded projects, it means full compliance documentation is already in place — no additional verification required.
