An architect-designed vineyard restaurant and cellar door in West Gippsland, built to exceptional thermal performance using SIPs Ready Cut.
When Cannibal Creek Vineyard set out to build a permanent restaurant and cellar door among the foothills of the Black Snake Ranges, the brief called for a building that could hold its own architecturally while performing reliably through the temperature extremes of a West Gippsland winter and summer. The rural setting and the character of the original corrugated iron barn shaped the design direction from the outset.
Enarchitects engaged SIPs Industries at design stage to ensure the panel system could achieve both the thermal targets and the refined architectural finish the project required. SIPs Industries supplied a SIPs Ready Cut package across the 212m² footprint, with panels selected to deliver a highly efficient building envelope within the constraints of the rural site.
The completed building provides consistent year-round comfort for visitors without the mechanical load a conventional build of this type would typically require. The construction method also allowed the architectural detail of the design to be resolved cleanly, without compromise.
